Ate all my calories before dinner! Should i Skip?

Hi everyone,
I've had a dilemma last night. Yesterday, i rushed to the community centre for my circuits class, but it was cancelled.
It was terrible because i already banked the 500 calories from that class in the afternoon and had 2 pieces of cake, so if i didn't do that class, i wouldn't have enough calories to eat dinner!
So i went to the gym and worked out for an hour, and burned a lot less calories, and had a very small dinner which left me hungry in the morning.
My question is: what happens when an emergency happens and you can't do your evening exercise class? For example, what if there is a family emergency and you need to go to the hospital (or whatever) and you've run out of calories to eat?
Do you skip dinner to stick to the calorie goal?
What would you do?

personally, I try to never skip a meal. But that's a personal choice. Remember that you can always make it up over the rest of the week. If you need to go over by a hundred or two not a big deal, remember 100 calories is a very small fraction of a single pound (3%), and while I don't recommend thinking like that on a regular basis, going over isn't a crime. If it really worries you, add 10 minutes of moderate jogging on a treadmill or the eliptical or something else for 2 days on there. That should take care of it.0

I agree with banks.
I don't think you should skip a meal. Get some sort of exercise in before going to bed.

To avoid this I have worked my normal workout schedule into my calorie allotment.
Meaning I try to eat 1700 calories a day no matter how much, how little or if I don't work out at all.
I based my BMR calculations on be "very active" even though I work at a desk all day, but I workout 6 days a week. So, my workout activity is already calculated into my base caloric needs.

I do the same thing! I hate that. I ususally try to, in the morning, enter in what I will be eating for lunch and breakfast, that way I know how many calories I have left for dinner. That may help you too, it works for me

That happened to me the other day when I was deceived by subway for breakfast. lol
For dinner I had one of those boca patties, not bad at only 90 calories. it does not shoot you way over, puts something in your belly.
Or have a small bowl of cereal. :-)0
