I had to get photos taken for my passport and working with children check.

The photo on the left is my current passport photo, taken in Aug 2007. The one on the right was taken today.

They are both pretty grim!

Show me yours.

If I showed you mine I would have to leave the site out of embarrasment. However, your face is so much slimmer in the recent one - a huge difference. And its only grim in the sense that you look grim - smile girl!!

I think they allow it here. OK, I'll let you off!!

ETA: here being the US (and I think in the UK if I remember correctly)

I'm pretty pissed I suggested this idea....I meant for OTHER people to post their ugly pics. Anyway, smiling is allowed:

For Australia/New Zealand the rule is that your "facial expression is neutral" ... or in my case. Grim.

Here is my drivers license 2006 - 2012.. Was taken at the first of January this year the one on left is 2006 and the right is current. I've lost a lot more weight since then. I do not have a passport.

Actually, you're not supposed to smile here either. See the rules here: http://travel.state.gov/passport/pptphotoreq/pptphotoreq_5333.html. It says, "With a neutral facial expression and both eyes open."

Oops, I smiled in mine and it was accepted (and in all my prior ones).

    These are all pretty good.
  • Oh my gosh, I LOVE showing people my drivers license photo because it's HILARIOUS. I've come a long way from being the angsty 17 year old emo girl with black hair, too much eyeliner, and black hoodies. Any time anybody checks me ID, they stare at it for a while and then stare at me and try to put two and two together and usually I'm just like "It was a weird phase" and then we have a laugh.

I don't know why I'm doing this since I hate both of these photos. Passport on the left was 2006 and license on the left was last August and 60lbs ago....

On my recent DMV pic the clerk must have zoomed the camera in on me because my head looks enormous. It's really quite traumatizing. A big head and a drifty eye. That's me.

I think there is a ten to fifteen pound difference here, so not a big difference.
