Mah box

No, not that one. For the past month or so, I've been logging some odd exercises. No time for gym since I've been dedicating my time to making a box table for a homemade gift exchange I'm involved in. Well, the box table is done, and I'm absolutely thrilled with how it's turned out.

This box represents 2648 calories, 23.5 hours, and immeasurable swear words. I've never had more fun working out in my life! A special thank you to my husband for teaching me how to build it, and for letting me do the brunt of the work.

Now.. the pics:

There are more pics in my profile, too.

Hubby and I liked it so much that we're going to make a slightly smaller version for ourselves. Well, minus the mouse device on the top.

I think you did an amazing job!! It turned out really great!! Of course you're pretty amazing so I'm not surprised

I personally think burning calories doing things around home is a great idea!! Home projects have always been a great way for me to burn some calories.

That's awesome ! Great job on the woodworking... I personally LOVE woodworking, and don't do it enough. So tell me, was the mouse device inset in the wood, or ?? And did you design the piece yourself??

    You did GREAT !!

It's painted on top then coated with a clear coat of shellac. The design is based on a pic of a 13th Century Mongolian box. That box was more ornate than mine, but I was nervous that I would screw it up if I tried to be more creative with the gold paint, so I didn't try it.

And thanks everyone for the comments!
