I know for me I am in the health sciences profession, im a lab geek, I was drawn to the fact that it is really numbers based and the food database is huge! I did'nt even realize the massive social community that was here that is really growing on me too. What brought you to MFP?

And feel free to add me as a friend! Always looking for more support

  • I came to use MFP for what it is. Track my food and workouts so that I can lose weight and get healthier.

I actually love the social side of it. For someone that doesn't have a huge support system in person, it's great to have such a big group of people on here that are in the same boat. Trying to lose weight and get healthy. I've made some really great friends on here, and even found a couple people from my area.

The forums are an added plus for me on this site. I can get advice, support, motivation, and have a little fun.

I agree 100%. I came here not really caring about the social aspect but it has really grown into a solid support system

I came here originally to use it to check the calories in food.
  • I just wanted somewhere i could talk about weight loss with people - it doesnt matter to me how much somebody has to loose we are all in the same boat - i didnt want to bore my actual friends with my constant calorie counting/ weight loss ramblings!!! :-)

Agreed. Anytime I would talk about working out or eating, they kind of roll their eyes. Or they will say something along the lines of me being "obsessive" about it

I was looking for a good calorie calculator and food diary.

I'm just discovering/starting to use the social aspect of it.
