Beginners work out program... where do I start?

I'm 1/4 of the way thru my weight loss and need to incorporate a beginning workout program to move me from my 19 pound loss plateau!
I do walk, sometimes outside, sometimes on the treadmill. I think it is time for a tone up and/or calorie burn exercise.
Just looking at exercise DVD's, I thought I'd try the Jillian Michael's beginner's DVD, but haven't heard good or bad about it.
Also, what pound weights should I begin for arm toning exercises?
