Tabata Workouts. . .

What is everyone's opinion on these? I incorporated it into my strength training work out today instead of doing my typical cardio

They're excellent! You can even find Tabata music on iTunes...... I love them and I use them sometimes when I teach my HIIT class.

I love, love, love tabata workouts. I've been doing them off an on, with other types of interval training for over a year now and my cardiovascular capacity has increased dramatically since I started this. They are super hard, but very effective. They also are effective at burning fat.

Do you still incorporate regular cardio on the same day as a Tabata workout?

It's a love/hate for me. I hate it while I'm doing it, but it really does work. I learned about it from a trainer and it's a great way to improve cardio, as well as get a good workout in a short period of time.

Edited to say when I do a tabata, I do do other cardio, but try to keep it light. For example I did Tabata Tuesday, so afterwards I look my dog for a hike instead of a run.

I love tabata!!! But, I will say that if you're doing it right, you would not "want" to do another cardio work out that day. :)) They are killer!

I bet. i only did 2 minutes between each weight exercise just to see. There is no way I could do 4 minutes yet haha
