This post is probably gonna be whiny and long--may want to not read any further! I joined MFP a LONG time ago and it is wonderful and helpful and I love it. The problem is I can't seem to stick with it. 2 months is about my limit. This time what threw me is my son started school--it threw my schedule so off balance and I can't find the time for anything now. Pathetic excuse I know. I haven't worked out since Sept started and my eating is out of control. Everyday I say today is the day I will control my eating--yesterday went well til Lunch at work and I had a cookie wich led to another few and even a tastycake. (tastycakes aren't even that good!!!) I hate this out of control feeling and don't know how to get my motivation back!! I feel like it isn't even possible with the holidays. I figure if I can get through without gaining I'll be thrilled! I never really posted much before, just sorta read and learned from the sidelines. Maybe I need a buddy-or a swift kick in the a*#!! LOL. I would like to lose 10-15 lbs. Thinking of maybe signing up for a 5k in the spring--maybe that will keep me accountable. Ideas anyone??? Okay enough whining, thanks to anyone who made it through this pathetic post! Have a good day!:flowerforyou:

i crave sweets like you would't believe, and i have noticed that if i have some early in the day, I just want more all day long. so what has been working for me is I found some thin chocolate bars (not hershey's, a knockoff brand that is thinner) that only have 110 calories. every day my goal is to save enough extra calories to eat one of these (or something around that many cals). If i eat it too early, i just want more. but waiting till night time is like my reward for being good all day.
and technically i am getting to eat a little something sweet every day so i don't feel quite so deprived. and if i don't have enough extra cals to eat it, i'll go on a 30 minute walk just to earn them.0 -
Hi Laine!
Don't be so hard on yourself...you're only human!! Just try to start exercising again. Maybe only 10 minutes or so to help get you back in the swing of things. Then when you see yourself maintaining a little bit of exercise a little food control might follow. I find it's hard to eat certain foods, like twinkies, if I start thinking about how hard I'd have to work to get it back off a well as how good I'll look if I don't eat it!
Don't give up!!! If you do have a little cheater day...jump back on the next day. We can only take life one day at a time anyway, right? Good luck to you!!0
