Not feeling good

For the past 3 weeks I just haven't felt very good... not very bad, but not good. My stomach has been upset, dull headaches, slightly stuffed up nose, little bit of a sore throat, like I said, nothing horrible just not great. I am so tired, I feel worn out. The week before last I only went to the gym twice, last week I managed to go 4 times and workout at home once, I skipped yesterday and went home and went to bed. I really wanted to get some good workouts in this week with Thanksgiving and everything... but I feel like I'm not going to be able to workout again today :frown: I don't even really know the point of this post, I guess I just wanted to complain...

Have you considered a pregnancy test?0

I have been feeling the same way! Are you supposed to work out when you are not feeling 100%? I have heard in the past that if you're not sick, you should let your body recover. Maybe this is just something I've told myself to justify not working out when I'm feeling sick....
What do you guys do? Do you workout when you're sick? How bad does it have to be so that you won't workout?
Perfect timing to get sick, huh? Right before the Holidays.... :grumble:0 -
Well, I haven't missed my TOM or anything and I am on BC... I was thinking about taking a test to be sure. That's the first question my mom asks me anytime I say I don't feel good. :laugh:0

We all need to vent sometimes.
Sometimes our bodies just need to rest in order to heal. Have you been to the doctor? I would go to the doctor first, then listen to your body and get some rest! If you really don't want to miss exercise altogether, go for some walks - it's more gentle than a strenuous gym workout, but moving your body is moving your body and it will still burn some calories.
Hope you're feeling better soon!0 -
I hope you get better soon to enjoy thanksgiving!0

Actually, walking is a great idea!
It helps keep your mood elevated also. So many times we stop exercising when we're tired or burned out or just not with it, and it serves to perpetuate the problem.
Either way, I hope you're feeling better soon!

I know exactly how your mom feels. Hope you feel better.0

I haven't gone to the doctor because I don't know what I would tell them... I kind of don't feel good and I'm mad that I don't feel like working out.
I think I'm just going to suck it up and do my cardio workout today...0 -

Just tell them your symptoms...the duration, severity. If it's something serious enough to get in the way of normal activity, they'll probably want to run some blood tests to check your iron, thyroid hormones, etc. They may also check on your diet and exercise habits to make sure you're eating enough of the right things.0 -
It sounds to me like you have a bug that just won't go away (i.e. cold). Keep this in mind: exercise is a stressor on your body. So is an illness. If you are not feeling well, the best thing to do is to shut down all the engines and let yourself recuperate. You will prolong your illness if you don't give your body the rest it needs. When said you were really tired, that is your body trying to tell you something, don't ignore it! I say give it a few days of rest, drink plenty of fluids, and hopefully you will feel better by Thursday!0

I am also noticing some sharp pains like when my gall bladder was bad... and I have been constipated  Yeah, I'm starting to get worried now. The crappy thing is I have been thinking about switching doctors. My current family doctor never wants to check for anything. He would probably just give me an antibiotic. I should ask for bloodwork... would that show anything having to do with kidney function too?0

I always got stuffy nosy and a cold whenever I got pregnant. Just something to consider. And that jabbing pain could be implantation0

A CBC will show what's going on in your blood, but from that information a doctor will be able to tell what organs might not be functioning properly.0 -
Songbyrd, do you think I should still try to push myself and get my workouts in?0

I really can't say. In my opinion, if you know you have gall bladder issues and you are feeling unusually fatigued without a change to your normal routine, you should see a doctor before you continue. Eat maintenance calories, walk and stretch to stay active, and ask for a referral to your GE. In my experience surpassing the GP and going to my specialist has been the best course of action for actually getting things done.0 -
Well, I had my gall bladder removed, so I know it's not that. I just did the symptom checker on Webmd and it suggests appendicitis. I am going to try to get into the doctor. I will head home after work and take the dog for a walk. That would be good for me and her! Thank you very much for your advice.
Also, I have lost a few more pounds than I would have thought lately...0 -

If the doc suspects appendicitis (or if you do), you need to get in ASAP. No dog walk, just go to the doctor. Generally it won't manifest as a 3-week illness, but I still think it would be wise to let them know about any severe pain you're having.0 -
I went to urgent care after work yesterday. The Dr. pressed on my belly and I showed no signs of appendicitis (pain or "guarding"). I'm not pregnant and I don't have kidney stones... but I still don't feel good! Could this really just be constipation? (Sorry TMI for anyone) I took Milk of Magnesia and softeners 2x last week and have been drinking herbal laxative tea for 2 days now. I have had BMs... my husband thinks I'm constipated... Pinching in my very low stomach and on my right side, and nausea.0

Sorry you are feeling crappy. If you are having BM's, maybe not constipated... Maybe there is something missing from your diet causing the malaise?0

I think the laxatives mess with your normal routine. 100% Natural Psyllium Husk fiber (aka colon cleanse, Metamucil, etc) everyday would help a lot.0
