Here it goes--My lunch today--tuna cheese and celery on Whole wheat bread--I was going to have cucumbers on the side but my son threw them all into the sink--not good! There I go with excuses again. :grumble:

We did way good this week! I will be among the losers next week! So I am off to exercise. My routine has been all thrown off this week, but I have big plans for next week when I am officially unemployed.

  Keep up the great work!!:drinker: :flowerforyou:

Here is the link to see where we post our charts. No one else has posted yet today--http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/70708-12-week-challenge?page=3#posts-950865

I just finished Cardioke and Biggest Loser Power sculpt. Something totally different than what I have been doing. Only 45 mins because it was on demand, but I'll take it. It felt good though. Maybe my body was tired of the treadmill...Thanks for the idea Chrissy!

Time to actually shower and get my day started--pretty pathetic it is afternoon and I am finally getting to work. :ohwell: I need to get into a better routine!!

Great job with the weight loss everyone!! All the motivation is great. We will need it this week!!

Thanks for the travel tips on the other post. Pacing while waiting is a great idea. I usually just sit and listen to my ipod or read. At least Heathrow airport has a cool central shopping area where everyone has to wait. I can browse. I'll stock up on water after the security check point. I am bringing the 30 day shred DVD so I have some exercise options.

People are gonna think I'm nuts but I am planning on bringing food for the entire flight - no airplane food for me (unless security finds something wrong with it and throws it away). I'm making sandwiches, pre-cut bell peppers, string cheese, homemade almond/raisin trail mix. Hopefully the food I bring will get me through the 8 hour flight.

I'll still check in with the group while I'm on vacation. I'll need the motivation.

Good job everyone on the weight loss.

Taradise- Wish you a great trip. Keep water nearby and keep track of your food choices.

    Happy thanksgiving to all.

Let's do a great job again this coming week!

Great job this week, blues! And Debnu, hang in there and it will happen. Just keep on keeping on!

My exercise tonight will be housecleaning. I am officially off until Monday now, and we leave town bright and early Thursday morning to go to Fort Worth and see daughter #1 for the weekend. I am excited about the trip, but want to get the house cleaned before I start packing.

Everyone - stay focused for Thanksgiving! This is where we could really get an edge on other teams who might lack our determination over the holidays. I vow to try to eat as healthy as possible while visiting relatives who are at this moment preparing tasty desserts just for me, I am sure. I think I will try to visualize a scale every time I look at a cookie or piece of candy. Then I will see if there is a carrot in the refrigerator to keep me busy. We can do this - keep your eyes on the prize of a healthier life! Here's to smart choices!

    And, once more for this week . . . team huddle . . . everybody on 3 . . . GO BLUE!

    Hello all,
Sorry i've been mia the last little while. Been eating good, but no exercise. My back has been sore for 2-3 weeks now, but "No more!". I finally understand why now.

Did any of you know that if you have a tight hamstring you can have a sore back? I had no idea. I know I must have injured it or caused it to cramp when I was doing P90x, and/or jogging. I guess I didn't properly stretch.

I had mentioned to a friend of mine I also had a tight hamstring and I'd stretch it just a bit. He mentioned that it can cause a sore back I looked it up.
So lesson I learned and hope to pass the info on.
    one link for example http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/back/hamstrings/tighthamstrings.htm

Since last night, heat, massaging and long stretching, and I'm stretching a few more times during the day. No sore back today. So I'm confident I'll be on my way back to exercising and getting this weight off. I'll just have to pay more attention to stretching.
debnu- I have always thought medicine should be more preventive than curative. I have seen doctors that have directly told me that they don't practice preventive medicine. But I guess it's not their fault, since this is what they are taught in medical schools. I think I read that they don't really study nutrition as much. This is unfortunate, because I believe proper nutrition can prevent many medicines, and for some people has even cured diseases

I agree totally almomay. It is unfortunate, and that's what they are taught in schools with the books and knowledge. They know how treat the symptoms and not the causes.

The body is an amazing thing. We've seen and heard and felt many of the ways our bodies can heal ourselves. Given proper nutrition, vitamins etc, and get rid of the junk out of our foods and our bodies, the body can heal itself.

I'm proud of my niece as she's going into the Naturopath medicine field.

Taradise, you sound like you already have a plan for your travels, and got lots of tips. One thing to remember, if you stumble, don't let your self fall, pick yourself back up. It's a short distance, and you'll be back to normal. 2 weeks is short on the whole scheme of things. You look great in your new pic.
    Enjoy the trip.

    Good for a laugh.

I go into Tim Hortons and I order to a young guy at counter "I'll have a Egg and sausage on toasted everything bagel, no butter." I guess I said it too fast, he asked me to repeat. So I said it again "I'll have a egg and sausage on toasted everything bagel, no butter". I pay, and I go over the side counter and wait. I see the girl making it. Toasted bagel comes out, she puts the knife in and (yep it's coming).. gets a big GLOB of butter:noway: and starts to spread it. (I'm thinking ok maybe not mine). She gets the egg and sausage and puts it on.:explode: I say "excuse me", young guy turns around. . I said no butter. He says "I thought you said butter". I said no butter twice when I paid. final reply "i'm sorry my bad",  had to wait for few more mins.

I"m here. I'm still not exercising however. The hospital called me today and after hearing about my pain told me to call my doc. I did so and they put me on different pain meds. Kids are not in school now the rest of the week so I'm hoping I can heal now and just get better. I have learned through this and my wisdom teeth that I'm just a slow healer. I have been drinking TONS of water.

Thank you everyone for your support!! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

Chinese medicine is one to treat the cause and not just the symptoms--it really is too bad we have not found a way to combine chinese and traditional medicine. I am all about preventative care too--but that is for a different soap box.

I had mahi mahi and a cucumber for lunch sooo very good, I should do that more often!!

I am baking up a storm for tomorrow. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I have sooo much to be thankful for!:smooched:

I am up for an after Thanksgiving challenge, maybe something along the lines of staying on plan, or an exercise challenge. Anything works for me.

Have a safe and healthy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Just got home from taking Suzie Q (our dog) to the vet. She got away from us to go say hi to the neighbor's dog, and then was running back to me right in front of a pickup. After she was hit, she could still run, so I think she is probably mostly ok, but we left her at the vet's to be checked. I haven't screamed like that for a while - pretty scary to watch. I hope she doesn't have internal damage.

Vet just called - he says he can't find anything particularly wrong with her. What a miracle! He is is putting her on an anti-inflammatory, and she needs watched for internal injuries. We are going to get her now.

Hey guys!!! I am having such a good feeling about this week!!! Even with Thanksgiving coming up. My grandma is out of the hospital and we are going to go ahead with a small version of our normal festivities. But, I'm doing a 5K tomorrow morning so I will feel a little better if I splurge! If I lose weight this week, I have no excuses to not lose the next!

I'm loving the new setup on the site. I just have to get use to this now. Feeling even better today. I have only taken a couple of Tylenol.

Tomorrow is not going to be a hard day for me it will be sunday. That is when we are all getting together. Ugh.

Well, I think my bags are all packed, my lunches and snacks are all packed, breakfast is ready to go into the oven early, and I am ready to head to bed. The alarm will go off at 5am, and I am sure that I won't want to move. I am very excited about going to Texas to see my oldest daughter, though! I am not likely to be on a computer until Monday, so Happy Thanksgiving to all, and to all a good night!

    Happy Thanksgiving Blues!!!

Well I made it back to the US yesterday. I am so proud of myself!! With bringing my own food for the plane ride AND my mom-in-laws low cal dinner - I totally stayed within cals!!!! I felt much better after the plane ride as a result. I knew I made the right choice to bring my own food for the plane ride when they brought out my husbands overly creamy pasta selection with dessert on the side. I didn't feel deprived because I ate when the rest of the plane ate. Had TONS of water too.

I'm feeling extra motivated for a good Thanksgiving. I took advantage of jet lag and got up early for 45 mins on the treadmill. So glad the in-laws have some exercise equipment!!! Yay for a good Thanksgiving!!

    good luck to everyone!

    Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving!

Taradise- sounds like you planned really well for your trip in terms of food. That's a good idea to bring your own food for the plane.

This morning, I headed to the gym without thinking about it. I havent' been to the gym since sunday. Mostly because of a school project I'm doing, and well because I wasn't in the mood. I felt so good after working out!

To a Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving all!

Hope all my US friends had a great Thanksgiving, and didn't have too many 2nd helpings of bad stuff.
Well I'm down 2 lbs as of this morning. I just have to make sure I carry it over to Monday's weigh in, and thank goodness a week without a sore back. Stretching that hami 3 times a day every day.

As for any challenges.. A thought, maybe instead of going for new ones. (always open to new suggestions), let's go through ones we have done.

ie, after most of have eaten turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, desserts, we should probably get a good flush this weekend before Monday.
Try to drink 10 glasses of water per day.......
(That includes you Chrissy  ) if you aim for 10, and then only drink 8. That's still great.

Everybody can benefit from doing pushups everyday.

Ok, just a thought, how about trying a commercial challenge. I'm sure I can speak for most of us that still sit on the couch in the evening to watch some tv.
During ~3 min commerical, we can do?
    10 pushups?
    20 ab crunches?
running on the spot until commercial is over? or jumping jacks.

Then if you feel great, repeat during next commerical, and repeat 3-4 times an evening while watching tv?

Sounds great--I am game, 10 glasses of water a day and commercial exercises. I guess that means I can't flip channels or fast forward my DVR

I exercised for over 2 hours this morning in a hope to make up for my indiscretions yesterday.

    Have a great one1

I'm doing well with the water challenge, however I am worried about Monday's weigh in--I don't want to let you guys down so I have exercised extra. I need to get rid of all this bad food and eat vegies for the next two days I guess!!

Hey guys! Thanksgiving went well, but this is the first time I've checked MFP since then and I haven't gotten in on the challenge ... YET! But I want to do it this coming week. I weighed in on Saturday and was the same ... so I'm at least glad I haven't gained any weight after turkey day!!

I am trying a couple things different this coming week, too. Instead of having Fiber One frosted shredded wheat (a little high in sugar), I'm having an egg patty (I got frozen ones) and a whole wheat bagel. Mmm!! Then, I am going in to work 45 minutes earlier so I can get in a 25 minute workout before work starts. I did that last Wednesday, and also worked out 25 minutes AFTER work and I felt SOOOOOO much better that day.

Hey Blues! I've been enjoying some time with my family so I haven't been on the MFP message boards lately. Although, I have logged my food  And I have been able to get in at least 30 mins of exercise everyday!

Anyway, I won't be able to weigh myself on Monday... so please put me at the same weight.

    Have a good week blues!

    Hi Beautiful blues,

I'm almost done with a big school project, and I will be more relieved now since that was a huge stress for me. I usually eat alot when I'm stressed. I'm really looking forward to december because I have plans to work out and really dedicate time for myself. I did pretty good during thanksgiving, and only did bad 1 day. I logged my foods each day and I'm just listening to my body to see what it needs.

    I'm very optimistic!

Good luck everybody this week. We can do it!
