My guess is it's an ovarian cyst. Not harmful, but painful. They usually break on their own.

I know that at ovulation there can be pain in that area, it's called mittelschmerz if you wanted to google.
Don't know your history and have too little info so can't really say much else about it. Hope you feel better soon.

Agreed. I have pain when I ovulate. Almost every month. I can tell which side I'm firing from with pretty good accuracy. It's kind of a "pinchy" feeling as opposed to crampy. Usually lasts several hours and my gyno says it's not an big issue.

I agree with both! Could be ovulating or a Ovarian Cyst. They feel about the same to me.... Hope you feel better soon....

Some quick googling tells me ovulation is 11-21 days after the first day of your last period of 12-16 days before your next one. You're at 17 days after your last one so my guess is you're ovulating. Previous posters were right. It's generally a pinchy feeling as your ovary spits out an egg. Fun times.

mittleschmerz = middle pain ~~ roughly translates to exactly what the others mentioned. Ovulation giving a little trouble :) not sure why the doc would say not to work out

I agree probably ovulation, I always had one side that hurt, it ended up being cysts and I needed the birth control to help break them down. Normally they break down on their own, you might have a heavier than normal flow, especially coming off the pill. I am not sure why he wouldn't say not to exercise because I always felt better when I did. I hope you feel better soon!

I would ask the doctor why he told you to wait and not work out. if it is ovulation, you are fine. if doc was unsure about something, it is good to check on that.

I would actually go to a Dr. and get checked - not just a phone call and I wouldn't just take the word of women over the internet on a fitness website.
