Weighing after?

Hi! I have heard this information and am wondering if this is true. If I weigh myself at night after dinner. So lets say I finished dinner at 6 pm and weigh in at 7 pm before going to the bathroom. They say that I could not gain any more weight than what the scale shows at that moment. So for example, if I weigh in after dinner and weigh 128 lbs. but the morning of I weigh 125 lbs. is it true that even if I had eaten lets say 3500 calories extra and gained a pound, what shows up on the scale after I eat would be right at the amount of weight I gain or less.

So in other words, if I weigh in after dinner, the next morning I could not have gained more weight than after I had weighed in that night after dinner. Right?

I weigh myself in the morning, after my first bathroom moment.

I'm sorry but I really don't fully understand your reasoning.

I'm not sure I'm interpreting your question correctly, but...

So you wake up at 125. You eat 3500 calories over maintenance. After dinner you weigh 128. You are asking if you can possibly weigh more than 128 the following morning? Is that correct?

I'm really not sure the answer to that. In my experience, the following morning I always weigh at or less than what I weighed before bed. It seems like what you are asking is whether or not fat gained through calorie over-consumption will reflect immediately, or will it take several hours or days. I would think that as soon as you eat enough calories to gain a certain amount, you gain that amount. Your scale might not be sensitive enough to pick up on it though until you've gained a bit more. Does that help? Hopefully someone more knowledgeable about these things can answer your question.
