The Official MFP Favorite Beer Poll

I could not possibly pick a favorite beer. I couldn't even pick a favorite brewery.
In fact, I can't even pick a favorite type of beer, but the top few would be:
Cascadian Dark Ale
American Black Ale
Indian Brown Ale
India Pale Ale
Maibock
Imperial Stout
Marzen
Black Lager
Pilsner
We're blessed to have some great breweries here in NC:
Foothills
Green Man
Asheville Brewing
Duck Rabbit
Red Oak
Pisgah
(to name a few)
I like almost anything I've had by Flying Dog, Left Hand, New Belgium and Dogfish Head.
If I'm at an establishment that has nothing like this, I usually end up with a Sam Adams or Guinness.
Right now, there's a Founder's Breakfast Stout waiting for me to reach my next weight loss goal (double chocolate, coffee, oatmeal stout).
If I had to pick just one favorite today, though, it would be Dogtoberfest. I had my first sighting of the year yesterday and it's waiting in the fridge for tonight!0 -
Heavy Sea- Peg Leg Russian Imperial Stout & I don't know who makes it but Dragon's Milk Stout.. Was thinking about making it my recovery drink..
Dragon's Milk is from New Holland Brewery. And is the BEST.
I think you may be right. It's certainly one of the best I've tried, but way too costly to get very often. I saw an oak-aged Old Rasputin at the store once that was just slightly more expensive than gold. The saleslady suggested that I use my tax refund to get me a few bottles. I suggested that she give it to me for my birthday. I imagine it was excellent. If you're ever in the NC Piedmont around February I suggest you try and find some Sexual Chocolate. It's an imperial chocolate stout and is pretty close to the best, too, but usually only around for a few weeks.
Oh, and I might have to steal your idea for the recovery drink!0 -
