Pain under my ribs...dislodged muscle??

I have always asked my doctors about this, but they always shrugged it off. I had it happen today again during a stretch, so thought I ask while it's fresh in my mind!

When I do certain (bending forward) yoga/stretch moves with my torso, I get some intense pain on the left side of my torso under my ribs. I usually have to sit straight up or even stand up for the pain to go away. Once I stand/sit up for a few seconds, I always feel a sort of "drop", like something went back into place and the pain is gone immediately. Whatever it is, it gets stuck either behind or in front of my bottom left rib. I am assuming that it has to be an ab muscle...maybe? Anyone ever heard of this sort of issue...any way to fix it? Or do I have just deal with it?

Every time I brought this up with the 2-3 doctors I have seen in the last 5 years, they were always like "Oh that's strange, don't know what it would be...can't help you there!"...with no recommendations or anything...I guess I pick bad doctors.

  • I'm not a doctor, but almost sounds like something is not anchored inside, or getting pinched which might cause a hernia I'd ask your regular doc for a referral to an internist and see if they can't do an ultra sound.
thats a bugger alright since yoga is fun too........

I didn't even think about hernias. - Thanks for the advice, I know how to word myself next time! I always expected my past doctors to suggest something on their own...but I guess I expected too much of them. Lol

Yes, it definitely suck when it comes to yoga. I sometimes participate in an yoga class at my gym and HATE when I'm all into it and that whateveritis decides to start hurting like a beyatch...causing me to immediately go out of a good pose and whatnot. :noway:
