i swear, today i could just eat and eat and eat and not be satisfied, i am just a bottomless pit!
i eat pretty much the same thing every day, but today i'm just so hungry. even right after a meal, i'm immediately thinking 'i want to eat more. what else can i have?'
i know i'm eating enough, so really i just need distracting!

Do some exercise, drink lots of water and wait 20 minutes..you'll know then if you are genuinely hungry, if yes eat some thing filling but good, like a banana or some chicken

Eat slowly, guzzle a pint of water and get yourself a book or magazine to read. Xx

If you're eating pretty much the same thing every day, try changing your food and meals to something different. I think our bodies tend to get bored if eating the same things over and over without any variety. Also, as above, try drinking more and eating slower.

    Good luck with it.

  • this is kind of different than what other people suggest (even though those other options are great suggestions!). But after you drank a bunch of water and tried to distract yourself, if you are still thinking about food, make something that takes a long time to cook. When I'm hungry it makes me feel better to know that my satisfaction is coming, and making something a little more exquisite will not only give you a little bit of time to space out your meals, but it will keep you busy with food (since thats what you're thinking about anyway) and you can breath in the sweet aromas while you cook.
When I'm a bottomless pit is when I tend to take out the crockpot and start cutting up those veggies. You get to interact with food while you cut the veggies, experience how fabulous it smells while it cooks, and then after its done cooking you can enjoy. and if you happen to much on some of those veggies while you slice them, no big deal :)
And then invite someone to share the meal with you. If you have a family thats an obvious one but if not you can invite your significant other, or even just a close friend over to enjoy. That way you will have good conversation to distract you while you eat and help you not have 3rd helpings, and you potentially get some help with dishes!
For me, I prepare everything (which at my skill level, takes forever) and then start cooking. Take a shower, get dressed up, do some make up. Set the table all pretty, and then enjoy a nice "date night" meal with hubby. It takes up a lot of time, but its the days where I dont have anything productive to do that I tend to walk around the kitchen mindlessly grabbing crackers from the box because "1 cracker surely doesn't have any calories" (repeat 20 times). :P
    good luck!

I had one of these days. I chose to eat a lot of diet approved stuff:
    2 cups coffee
    fruit
    greek yogurt with bran bits
1.5 servings salad mix (a heaping plate) + 2 TBS light dressing
    2 eggs
2 pieces of toast with 8 grams butter
    100 grams fish
I ate slowly and kept wanting more today too. I ate all the above in like 6 hours. I work nights so my diet can be different; I eat whatever I want and put it into the category that I feel it is best suited. If I eat cereal at midnight, I would put it under breakfast or snack. I actually think this lets me see what else I should eat to make my meals complete. Eight hours after eating all that stuff, I feel satisfied.
