Does anyone else dread putting on their chest strap? I always find it to be really cold, but lately it doesn't help that my gym bag is in the car all day and VERY cold by the time I put it on. I have to brace myself and hold my breathe when I put it on, lol. The one day I had to use the bathroom very bad and when the shock of the cold chest strap hit me I swear I almost peed my pants right then.

Since you are suppose to wet it first, I run it under warm water. It helps a lot.

Depending on how cold it's getting, you may want to be careful about leaving it in a vehicle that gets very cold (around here, it's not unusual to be -10 to -40 degrees F in the dead of winter). Electronics don't always react well when they freeze, especially batteries and LCD displays, and I'd hate for a perfectly good HRM to die on you.

I'd try rubbing it between my hands for a few minutes to warm it up before putting it on.
  • I am so with you on that! I tried wrapping mine up in a towel overnight and place it in my gym bag. The strap wasn't as cold but the plastic part will not get warm at all!

Can you try putting it in your pocket on your way to the gym? That might help a little. But if not, you could just run it under warm water like someone mentioned... I know mine is cold too when I forget it in the truck overnight. I just try to brace myself the best I can and put it on.. it warms up eventually lol.
