Advice on choosing an activity level?

Hi all, would really appreciate some help/guidance deciding which activity level to work with!
My day-to-day looks a little like this:
- Office job, so I'm sedentary all day
- Long walk to work 5 days a week (just over an hour)
- Work out anywhere between 3-6 times a week
I've set MPF at sedentary, been logging my exercise (but halving the walking time because I know MFP overestimates) and eating back pretty much all those cals. It's been working, but very slowly.
I have read somewhere though that it's better to have a consistant calorie goal every day, rather than eating more on work out days and less on rest days (no idea if this is true or not!).
Should I up my activity to lightly active, and not eat back the cals, or stay as I am? Thoughts/opinions?

So not an expert on this (only losing a little over a pound this week is proof) but I believe it is better to shoot for an AVERAGE over the week as oppsosed to the same calorie amount every day. Example one day 2000, one 1400, one 900 ect. You get the idea, when the 7 days are over you should average out to the 1200 per day or 1400, what ever you have decided for the week. Some days I am starving and I eat more, some I am not. I try not to eat more based on my work outs but on how I FEEL!0 -
.5-1.5 pounds a week is average, and 2 pounds is excellent. I would again suggest the average of the weekly calories, but also perhaps you need to eat more in general. Search the forums for eat more to weigh less. Because you do walk to work for such a long time and work out, you may need more calories in general. just try it about a month or so, if it doesn't work change something else.0
