Hey everyone!! I know I'm not the only one a little worried about tomorrow... so I thought I'd make a group where we can come and share how our Thanksgiving is going throughout the day. I'm not too worried about our family dinner itself (well.... it's actually lunch), but I just need to make sure I stay away from the leftover pie in the evening! BUT I am going to get a good workout first thing in the morning, so I can let myself enjoy everything.... in moderation:wink:

Good luck to you all... and Happy (early) Thanksgiving!:drinker:

  • I guess that I see Thanksgiving as a mandatory feast. I suppose that I could hide somewhere tomorrow and eat healthy but some people would probably miss me and be disappointed. Hmmm. That's a thought. Anyway ... we just do the best we can tomorrow. I feel for those (mostly female) people who have to not only cook the meal, but try to stick to their diet plan. That can't be easy.

Great idea. Hopefully, we can support each other. I didn't buy a lot of the extras sides that I normally do. I think that I can save a lot of calories this way.

    Good Luck everyone! :drinker:

I have most of what I'm going to eat plotted out so I have a general idea of what kind of calories I am going to consume. I told myself I wasn't going to measure or weigh anything and I won't. I will just eyeball servings and stop when I've had enough. My problem will be NOT snacking while I'm preparing the meal. I am going to eat a solid breakfast and keep gum in my mouth at all times to avoid the "pick at this, pick at that" scenario. I also plan on working out in the morning and in the evening. I think it's important that no matter what I eat that I get my work out ('s) in that day.

I also CAN'T freak out at the scale Friday morning!

I just have to remember that what happens Thanksgiving day stays on Thanksgiving day. I can't use this as an excuse to obliterate my diet through the weekend. :smokin:

Happy Thanksgiving my MFP friends! :flowerforyou:

I seem to be the opposite then most people. I will eat like a Rabbit in front of people, small portions on my plate even when it comes to deserts.

It's the after everybody leaves things where I'm cleaning up & eating what doesnt fit in the container or I'll just have more pie tonight when nobody is looking because I can restart my diet tomorrow & then tomorrow doesnt come.

I'm scared for myself after Thanksgiving not during Thanksgiving. I guess you can say I'm a Closet Eater:sad:

:flowerforyou: IKnowICan, do you have people asking about your small, healthy portions? I know that my steps would have a field day with that and I would be made fun of.

I weighed this morning and have gained three pounds. Not too worried about it. I am going to drink a lot of water, watch my foods and exercise a bit more. I believe that the extra pounds should be gone by Monday.
