I've used fit day off and on for several years and was disappointed that the site charged for a mobile app that according to consumer reviews blew chunks. Another poster on mobile review mentioned myfitnesspal mobile app. I downloaded it and found it to be quite easy to navigate and so here I am.
I'm more interested in a balanced, nutritionally sound diet that fits my lifestyle rather than in weight loss per say. I have a goal of dropping a few pounds of bodyfat, yes but that is secondary. As a former fitness model and competitive bodybuilder I already know how to drop body fat while maintaining lean mass. But now that I am on the cusp of the second half of my forties I want more out of my diet. I want to FEEL great on all levels, not just on the level of "I feel good because I look good." I'd spent the year before last totally out of the gym, in bed due to severe depression and spent way too much time drinking. So in 8 months I literally threw away most of the muscle mass I'd spent the previous 25 years busting my behind to grow... Anyways, it's been a year back in the gym (when I could afford one) and eating better but still indulging just a bit too much with the drink, too often. Not fall down sloppy drunk LOL but 3/4 drinks per occasion 4/5 times per week. Which goes to show how just a bit too much sin (whether your poison is pints of craft beer/martinis or pizza or chocolate cake either way it all adds up on your backside. Don't it?) and I've made great progress but I am nowhere near where I'd hoped to be by now. And I did it to myself.
So now, I want to get the most out of all the food I eat. I want to make wiser, healthier choices regarding the nutritional needs that are specific to me. I've osteopenia and GI issues.
The mobile app is awesome and the site seems equally easy to navigate. It appears to me that the only thing that is missing is a reporting function for the specific RDA nutritional breakdown of foods. Other than that, this site and app are head and shoulders above fit day.
If anyone would like to "friend me" either here or on my facebook, just send me a message.
I wish everyone great success in their quest for better health, wellness and fitness! E
