Anxiety around Thanksgiving

Hey

Is anyone else feeling a little anxiety towards Thanksgiving? I definitely am. I have been working really hard and know that moderation is key and yada yada yada, but on Friday morning I am going shopping with my mom...as a Christmas present (early since the sales are black friday) she is taking me clothes shopping since I need smaller sizes (which I am THRILLED). I am so nervous though that I am going to be bloated the next morning and not have fun shopping. I normally hate shopping because of the way the clothes fit and they way I look in them. I want Friday to be great. However, it is going to be SO hard to not eat the yummy goodness! It is really starting to stress me out..to the point where I could hardly sleep last night. I have been doing pretty good on my diet and will have a final workout session tonight before Turkey day but I can't help but be stressed. My hubby thinks I worry way to much and that may be the case but am I the only one that worries about this stuff?

What are ways that you can stay motivated through this time?

there's already a thread on this called who doesn't wanna gain 10lbs (see below)

well u have a big motivation going on which is ur shopping for new clothes. that alone wud make me shut my mouth. Well think of it this way, after thnxgiving there's always left overs, so definately watch ur portions and whatever u don't get to eat, or whatever u would like to have 2nds of, save it for left overs on saturday. that way u don't feel deprived, you're not bloated on fri, and everyone wins. Come on, you can do it!

The food will still be there on Saturday and sunday...etc as left overs. So you don't have to eat everything in sigh on Thursday.

    Hope that helps!

    I agree with Nolachick,
I know for myself this is a change of lifestyle and not a diet.. You can have alittle of the great food you love (just moderation) and be awhere of what you are doing. for instance the other day I brought a French Apple pie home for my family (Fall time apple pie who doesnt love that combo) well as dessert time rolled around I thought Yum I would love a piece of pie. Well I check the colories on it and went 400 cals OK well I have 200 left for the day that wont put be to much over. Then I put a tablespoon in a dixie cup (yes I really measured it) Then I went and sat down with the family while they ate. I took one small bite of my taste and thought about it. It was not worth the 30 cals I had put in my cup let alone 400 for a whole piece. So in the trash it went and I went on tto a yoplait Delights (which was so much better, in calories and taste) I do that tommorro to have a small taste and figure out if it really and truly worth it. You can also figure what you mantainance calories are and go with that amount for the day. If you stay within that range it allows you more for the day but you wont gain back for the day. Also when I eat to many carbs I seem to be way full at first then really hungry later so I know I need to watch that part.

    Have A Very Happy Thanksgiving
