Oops! Someone got animal protein and radioactive waste mixed up again! Don't worry sweetie, happens all the time. Totally understandable.

Yes, it certainly does help, morebean, that's roughly how much I've been taking in a day naturally, so at least it seems balanced!

So how much radioactive waste should I be taking in per day? I average around 40 grams, is that too low?

probably. I'd say most people need to hit at least 60-80.

Phew! Hearing people say it is ok with higher protein is reassuring as I go over it every single day!

higher protein is even more important when you are working on losing weight, because it helps to prevent lean muscle loss. I shoot for 100-120 a day.

Well, to be fair, only about 30 or 40 grams are necessary to support the muscle tissue of the average human. It's all the other uses for protein (hormone synthesis, enzyme synthesis, etc,) that cause you to need more, as they are a higher priority in the body than muscle repair, so if you run out before you get to the muscle repair, then it doesn't get done.

Of course, heavy strength training, and especially intense cardio exercise requires more protein, which is where the 1 gram per pound of lean body mass recommendation comes from.
