Hi. I am 59 and also from Australia. I have lost 9kgs so far. (not sure what that is in pounds.) I was diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure so was told to 'eat less and move more.' So that's what I've been doing for the past 3 months. Seems to be working getting the weight off at least.

Just had a few days rest away from the gym as I have a virus affecting my throat, accompanied by a hacking cough. Soon as it's over I'll be back to my two classes a day at the gym. I love it now. I actually miss not going. (That has not always been the case.)

Would be glad to keep in touch with you. We can keep each other on track.

    Hello

I joined MFP about a fortnight ago and am just getting to grips with the 'community' side of it.

I noticed you posted a message back in August and you'd lost 5lbs. Well done. How are things going now?

I'm not sure if this 'buddying' is going to work for me but I'm willing to give it a try. I guess you have to build a relationship with the friends you invite first.

I've been doing not too badly since I've started keeping a food diary on MFP - not really lost any weight in the past two weeks though and I didn't have a good week last week. I've decided to give alcohol a miss this week altogether to see if that kick starts me.

    Hope you're still making progress.

I have done the same, really cut down on the wine during the summer. It made a difference, except now term has started it is not so easy.
