There seems to be a lot more women posting that men so I figured I'd put up a post. I started about 2 months ago when I was at 255 lbs. I started logging my foods and shooting for 1200 net calories a day, which was about 1300 below my BMR when I started. I do 30 minutes of weight lifting and 45 cardio every day. I alternate between swimming laps, basketball, racquetbaIll, iceskating, and rowing. I'm avoiding running until im down to 200 because I dont want to put that much stress on my knees. Anyone who gets bored easily with cardio should look into baskettball. just shooting baskets is actually a pretty good calorie burner.
my diet has been pretty loose. no foods are blacklisted as long as I stay in my calorie goal. But I do avoid heavy carbs and obvious fatty foods. I eat a lot of fresh fish and veggies. Every morning I have 3 eggs and 2 strips of bacon, and I eat bratwurst with sour kraut pretty regularly. I've never been big on sweets or junk food so I really didnt have to change my diet much, mostly just cut out a lot of carbs.
I like to go out and have a good time so I gave up alcohol also. more as motivation than to cut out the affects of drinking. My deal is I get a scotch drink at every 10 lb mark. But other than that, no alcohol until I get down to 220 (-35), and no beer until 200. My end goal is 190 and I'm keeping 205 as my alcohol cut off. so If I go back above 205 I cant drink until i get back below 200
this is me when I started (255)

I have no idea why i'm posing like that (~235)

this is me the other day out having a Scotch to celebrate breaking the 230 mark (~228)
