Hi Guys,

I got asked for weight loss advice by an old school friend via Facebook this week and I've been thinking about the day I decided to change my life.

January 2nd 2012, a new year, yet another fresh start. I’d been to the gym on and off in 2011 and not lost any weight.

I got on the scale and couldn’t believe it 139kg, I was 6kg heavier than I’d been most of the previous year, I even asked if the scales were accurate, I felt like giving up before I’d even begun.

I got on to the cross trainer and decided that I would literally double my efforts 1 hour instead of a half, and that I would be at the gym every weekday.

By the end of the month that 6kg was gone and I was on my way.

Please share your first day experiences.

Well to be honest it was other month for me like you had been doing little bits but not really taking looking at my life as a whole. There was two catalysts really. Right before I start I am sure @thecodedog won't mind me saying we use to work in same office etc as next part only makes sense if you know that.

The first was major change in my role at work combined with other people I work with wanting to get heather as well started to motivate me more.

However major thing was yourself @thecodedog. Seeing change you have made in last 9 months motivated me to put really effort in and forced me to look at what really was stopping me. I couldn't really use any excuses when someone you know lost so much weight. In end only thing stopping me was me....

So know I have embarrassed @thecodedog I will sign off..
