When I started reading this thread I was relieved that I was not the only spider wimp around, then I saw the pictures of your spiders ... they are not spiders they are friggin monsters. Thank the heavens we don't get anthing like that in London.
Anyway, I'm not really scared ..... My wife protects me0 -
I FOUND IT! Snapped a photo of the corner cieling of my office
I'm not even afraid of effing spiders and then just now my fricking braid touched my shoulder and UGH! Seriously? Why did you post this lol. And why is that thing still alive to have its picture taken? This was so uncool of you. I liked you up until this point lol0 -
Just in time for the scary spider thread!
You too? What the hell kind of spider is that? That rat *kitten* would freak me out if it were on my wall. I'm not even afraid of black widows but that thing I'd have a problem with. What is it? God I don't even want to click on the "post reply" button because that picture is going to post and show up right in my face again haha.0 -
I just name them and tell them to stay on their side of the room. Personal space must be respected, you know, and if said space is violated then they get to learn to fly.0

AAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!!! EEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!
GET IT OFF ME! GET IT OFF ME!!
*runs away screaming from this thread*0 -
This is rediculous, its just words and pictures on an internet site and yet, I feel the tension in my neck, tightening of all my muscles and my mouth is dry and we just have itty bitty spiders compared to you all0

I live in Australia, I freak out at the sight of the massive spiders or the small deadly spiders.
Really wished I hadn't kept reading this thread. Looks like I'll be sleeping with one eye open and my Baygon in my hand.0 -
My friend sent me pics of her over in Iraq and a picture of a camel spider? I suppose that's what she called it, it was literally hanging underneath on the camels stomach and it was the SIZE OF A DINNER PLATE! Do not Google if you hate spiders. I am not kidding. It makes that one under the wall clock look like the Bambi of Spiders. But if you're brave Google it cause you really have to see how big these things are.0

I was lucky enough to not-encounter them. Yes, I would have probably chopped them into tiny pieces, then burned them.0 -
Spiders?... No problem. Cockroaches now.... ~shudders~... and I don't mean those silly little ones either.0

Eeeeuuuwww, I'm with you, I have shivers down my spine just reading that?
I hope it spontaneously curls up and dies - but somewhere that you can see it so you know it's dead.0 -
My husband tells me I'm mafia because if he tries to squish a spider, but I don't see the body, I'm not happy until I see the dead spider body. Sometimes you try to squish them, and you are so sure you got them, and then you move the implement you used to try to kill it, and it falls behind something. Is it really dead??? Or did it survive and is now running away to hide to come back out and try to attack some other day. I need to see that body, or I won't go in that room again until the next day. I will sleep in another room, I will skip my shower (have had 2 big grass spiders in our shower just within the past week), I will devote all my time to surveying it to make sure I know where it is until somebody can come kill it. Other spiders I can kill myself, unless they are up higher on the wall than I stand (because then when I try to kill them they fall on me), but those grass spiders, uh uh!!! No! Get me the hell out of the house! They are fast, they are big, they are extremely creepy. I always thought they were brown recluse until I got brave enough to look them up online (all the while keeping my feet off the floor for some crazy reason).0

OMG yes, Camel Spiders! My best friend sent me a picture of one when she was in Iraq. She said one kept chasing one of the girls, (it wanted to stand in her shadow out of the sun), and she said every night they would shake out their stuff to make sure they weren't going to be sleeping with one. She said one time there was one in a sleeping bag and they kicked it into the fire and it jumped back out, on fire, and was running all over the place. I hear they can be rather nasty. (I did get brave and look them up online at one point)0

spiders are gross, creepy and just plain nasty - Charlotte might have helped save Wilbur the pig but she was still nasty. I loathe the creepy little suckers. I have a rule with bugs in general and spiders in particular - If I find them in my space (in the house or car etc.) their life is forfeit and I squish them dead with lots of paper towel/kleenex between my hand and them then I flush said bug coffin down the toilet then flush again just to make sure they dont come back - but - if Im outside in their world - I try really hard to avoid them. I used to work with a girl that kind of liked them and would never kill them when they got into the office - she captured them then took them outside and let them go - usually while the rest of us were standing on the FAR side of the office yelling at her to just squish the damn thing however since she was the only one willing to get near it we were kind of stuck - the one small (very small) consolation that I have about spiders - they only live in a healthy house so take it for what it's worth - then kill the freaking bugs!0

Go nuts with it.
ROFL!!! Thanks for starting my day with a :laugh:0 -
I am TERRIFIED of worms. When I was a kid living in Wisconsin, after the snow melted and it started warming up they came out by the zillions. I couldn't walk to school w/o stepping on them. Now I can't stand anything that crawls or slithers. We have had an explosion of chameleons and frogs in our yard this year and those dang lizards get in my house, the bedrooms, the kitchen. They are crazy this year. They actually jump at you. I am not joking. We have psycho lizards here! Of course, SE Texas is also home to giant tree roaches too. They grow as big as 4 or 5 inches long and they fly. Don't like those either!!!!0

Huntsman. Ewewewewew! I found one in my bedroom one morning. You can actually hear them walk! Not cool :noway:0 -
I ran a vacuum over what I thought was a dead HUGE spider at work the other day...it wasn't and it was SO BIG due to all the babies on it's back that came flooding off when I hit with it with the vacuum. (nice of me to creep you out more, no?)
Omg, I would sell the house.
Spiders I can squish. The thought of spider babies exploding out or being born or hatching or whatever those demon spawn do? MAJOR hebejebes.0 -
One night not long ago I walked sleepily to my room only to open the door and see a big spider crawling up from behing the bookcase and onto the ceiling. I stopped in my tracks and watched it crawl down to the wall and across the room. I thought to myself that if it would crawl to a certain point then I could reach it to kill it with something. Well, as I was watching it...it happened to stop above my bed and fall directly behind it. I couldn't reach it and by moving anything I knew it would run away somewhere. I didn't sleep in my room for 4 days.0

My pest control guy warned me to NEVER squish because it it release a flood of babies. I scoop the buggers (or make my husband do it) and turn them loose far away from my apartment.0 -
I.... HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE ... and did I mention I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE spiders?! I def keep a HUGE bug killer spray under the sink in the kitchen. I test it weekly, to ensure it's ready whenever a creepy, crawly thinks my turf is theirs.! RAWR!!!0

And I thought I was strange or something, as most of my family and friends aren't afraid of spiders. Yeah, I'm lucky that there are not too many around where I live and most of them are small. I can handle the little-bodied, long-legged ones - I mean, they get either thrown out through the window or dealt with otherwise, but anything with a bigger, darker body and legs - I tend to scream, even though I try not to. I want to brave, but spiders near me - nope, not in this life.
Roaches and such are an issue too, but I don't have to deal with them so the fear is asleep at the moment.
The thread gave me shivers and jitters and what-not. Yayks.0 -
This is going to give me nightmares tonight!!!!0

At least it wasn't one of those crazy jumping spiders!!!!
