Is too much sugar why I'm not losing?

So, I was losing weight really well until I moved back home between breaks at college. Now that I'm not cooking for myself (read: microwave dinners, salads, and sandwiches) I am eating more. When I was on my own I was eating under 1200 and netting even less, which I didn't realise was a bad thing. Now that I'm eating at least 1200 a day could that be why I'm not losing as well as before? And when I say as well, I mean basically not at all. Or is it because I am constantly over my sugar? Help?

People normally don't lose because they either consume too many calories, or consume too few. Sugar isn't the issue, it's your calorie intake.

Its possible..Carbs promote insulin which promotes fat storage. This is 7th grade Biology as I remember it lol! In my personal experience the less carbs and Sugar I eat the faster I lose weight.I 100% dont believe in a one size fits all approach to dieting..Heck I was even in a controlled study eating ONLY 1000 calories of oatmeal a day for 2 weeks and what did I lose?..2 WEEKS lol..Also tried the lemonade, cayenne diet which was probably 600 cals a day for 10 days and I lost like 2 pounds...When I did the Atkins diet I lost 10 pounds in 3 days eating a LOT of calories and a consistent 2-5 pounds per week...Low carb diets have always been good to me,the problem is I dont like meat that much So I will just eat more carbs and lose slower..really slower....So,Yes..It could be the sugar. If u are eating lots of TV dinners its probably the sodium too..good luck!0

1200 is probably not enough. Go to http://www.health-calc.com/diet/energy-expenditure-advanced and pick a number above your BMR and TDEE. I did 500 less than my TDEE but don't eat back exercise calories because they are already accounted for. That gives you a healthy weight loss of 1000 calories a week. Try and eat more natural produce and lean meats vs packaged food.0

If you have insulin resistance you can eat anything and not lose weight.
You could eat celery all day and maintain fat.
Controlled study or not.
I bet if you did a 5x5 program while eating 1k oatmeal a day you would have lost the weight.
Metabolic disease aside, if I were to chop you in half all your organs would be in the same place as OPs.
If you have crash dieted then its just a matter of getting your metabolism and hormones up to speed with someone else your size whos losing weight at 1-2lbs a week.
So what you are meaning to say is "I've done all the fad diets and they didnt work so it must be something else thats stopping me from losing weight."
It wasnt the carbs.
Its not about water fasting.
Its not the sugar.
Its not the sodium.
Its either hormones or insulin resistance.
Both can be fixed by eating right for a period of time.0
