I mainly listen to music from 50's, 60's and 70's.
I'll name a couple that spring to mind:
Jackie Wilson
Bill Haley
Creedence clearwater revival
Johnny Nash
Monkees
Mungo Jerry
The Archies
The Beatles
The Zombies
Neil Diamond
Nina Simone
That's all I can name right now.
Don't ask me which decade they are from. I have no idea.0 -
Pirate Radio Soundtrack. That is all!0

Anything Motown would be excellent for the gym. Always a good beat, sometimes a little softer but it all depends what you like. I'm thinking Sly and the Family Stone but they may be more 70s! Either way, I think you should put them on your playlist immediately. They rock!0

I listen to a lot of motown when the mood hits me. Typically either in the car or in the shower.0

Led Zeppelin I and II came out in the 60s.0

If it has the name Elvis Presley on it, I'll listen all day! I love the oldies and sing loud to them in the car and with our karaoke machine oldie CD's.0

All the time, Doors, Stones, Cream, Led Zep, etc. Why?0

I adore Slacker Radio!
Download the ap for free and pop on some headphones. The have so many channels to chose from (including 60's) so there's always something to suit your mood. I adore the disco channel!0 -
HUGE Motown fan here. Not at the gym usually though0

I listen to Lisa Ono and all of the Bossa Nova type music! That makes me think of MOD!0

Everyone seems to have playlists with hard metal etc on them. Does anyone have anything different to this, possibly 60s based? Just for ideas for playlists?

I TOTALLY agree with a Motown based playlist!!!
One of my FAVORITES? Stoned Love by the Supremes, but I think it's a very early 70s song...
Don't laugh, but I have the Forrest Gump soundtrack downloaded--it has some kick @$$ songs on it to work out to!0 -

 Oh yes...I listen to oldies all day at work! But I'm afraid I'm not much help with playlists..altho, if I had one, Sly and the Family Stone, Credence, Otis Redding, 3 Dog Night, Me & Bobby McGee, some Elvis, Born to be Wild (hmmm..some of these are artists, and some are songs... ) Righteous Brothers....
But I don't listen to music when I work out..I listen to audio books. I get "playaways" at the library. They are tiny, just need a battery and ear buds. I work out longer....usually. :ohwell:0 -
Pandora works great for me. The nice thing is I can get it through my DVD player as well so can really use it to jam during my workouts.0

Fortunate Son by CCR gets me motivated to move every time!0
