My girls play sports, my husband coaches, we are on the go a lot. I also work full time. It seems I spend my life eating on the run, drive thru's, gas stations, concession stands. How can I incorporate healthy eating into that? I can pack a cooler, but how many nights can we eat sandwiches? I need ideas on quick meals that we can eat on the run. Girls don't like salads and sometimes we may only have 10 minutes between a double header and then have to drive 90 minutes home again when we're done.

Any suggestions?

Ah, I used to play a lot of sports as well! Since you have a cooler, maybe switch things up a bit, you don't always have to have sandwiches! Pack different kinds of fruits-oranges, grapes, bananas, peaches, maybe some celery and peanut butter, or carrots/radishes/broccoli with ranch? I know in the fall, my mom would bring a crockpot or two to our games and bring meals like chili/dumplings between late games. You could always bring tuna on the go cups, for a quick protein source with some triscuits or wheat thins, and what about yogurt or string cheese? Those aren't necessarily meals, but definitely a few of those things would be a nice pick-me-up snack between games. I hope this helps you.

I never thought about taking the crock pot on the go. I even have an outlet in my van to plug it in. Great idea. Thanks.

Try looking on the internet for picnic recipes...that should give you a lot of non-sandwich options that can still be packed into a cooler and transported!!!
