Is it OK to adjust your goals on MFP as you lose weight?

When I do this, it gives me less calories (obviously.).
My instinct was to select "Change Goals" after each weigh-in. I weigh in every month or 2 months. Not a weekly weigh in or anything. Anyway. Then I use the automatic goal-changer selection. Then I used my CURRENT top weight (now 210 lbs. When I started it was 227 lbs.). My goal weight is the same. Then it recalculates and gives me slightly less calories.
Is this a correct/advisable way to do this?
It seems to be working, but I do not want to set myself up for failure later on when get within 10 lbs of 135 lbs.
Just making sure I am using this tool in a way that will help me and not self-sabotage. Thanks!

Yea this is the right way to go about it. MFP asks you to recalculate I believe after every 5-10 pounds lost.0
