Heart Rate Monitors - Accurate or Not??

Hi Everyone!

I recently purchased a heart rate monitor to ensure I wasn't over estimating any calories burned. I rock climb, kayak, walk, and do other outdoors activity alot and I wanted to see what I was really burning.

I bought the New Balance Women's N4 Heart Rate Monitor.

I wore it rock climbing (indoor) and I was suprised but what the monitor said I had burned. It was MUCH higher than I thought!
(660 calories for about 2 hours)

I put in my weight, height, and stated I was at level 1 intenisty.

Does everyone here believe what their heart monitor says? How do you feel about these results.

I have a Polar HRM and at first I was also surprised of the amount I was burning but at the end of the day you have to remember that if you are heavy (like me) you will burn more calories since you have all fo this this added weight to your excerise. I've noticed as i drop weight I burn less calories doing the same thing.
