how to calculate the calories when juicing?

Im not sure how to actually calculate my calories when I juice my fruits and veggies... I have been entering in the whole fruit or vegetable. But I am not eating the fruit or the skin only the juice... Does anyone know how this should be calculated. I have looked up juice apple ex... nothing is helping... Give me some ideas... other then that I am counting that im having more calories and sugar then I am.

my simple answer is do not drink calories, eat them.
Unless you are liquidising a good soup or stew.0 -

i have the same problem , so i decided to cut and peel the fruits and veggies and put them in a cup to measure:yawn:
I hope somebody has a better solution .

Just curious, why not use the NI found for 100% apple juice, no sugar added (when juicing apples)? I know some juices will be harder to find, but that should at least give you a start.0 -

Try the Juicing Bible or any other good book on juicing. Many contain nutritional information.0 -

When you're juicing and sticking to the 80/20 veggie to fruit ratio the calories really don't matter but if you're like me you still want to track them in the fitness pal. This website is fantastic for doing the calculations:

Check out juicerecipes.com You can click on "Build Recipe" and it gives you the nutritional information for what you are juicing. It also has an option on the right to switch between juicing and whole fruit in case you are making a smoothie or something similar.0

THANK YOU!! For the juicerecipies.com site! I've been juicing for a few months and struggling with how to count the calories? The thing even showed me which vitamins i'm missing---so I know what vege to add to acheive that deficiency.
I wish more people knew how great juicing is and the benefits. Since I started it-- I don't eat as much in the morning and lost 4 pounds. I am only 5 feet, so that is a BIG BIG deal for me. And that was before counting calories. What i never expected was how great i felt--even after a few days. i felt fulller longer and started not wanting coffee. wha wha????!!! it was SHOCKING! i didn't get as much of a "pep" from coffee like i do with juicing. and i'm one of those that LIVES for coffee.
