this weight-training is good for me I know that intellectually but I find myself feeling down because I haven't lost any inches and no pounds. Would love to hear from others that faced this or are facing it as they weight-train instead of watching scales.

    Are you entering your exercise?

I looked at your diary and it seems pretty good. I did notice that almost everyday you exceeded your fat. Albeit most of your fat was healthy fat, I would try to reduce that a little. Try to stay around 30g per day for a couple weeks. If you exercise - obviously that number would go up.

Increase your water. Some days you had high sodium, keep that under 1500 and drink water.

If you are only weight lifting I'd add some cardio in as well. That will help shed the fat as you sculpt muscle underneath.

Don't get discouraged.....You'll get results. YOu just need to adjust your routine and diary a little. GOOD LUCK.

It takes time and you have to eat enough, everyday. I've been on maintenance all summer and upset cause I haven't lost any weight so this is coming from a crazy person :)

Just give it at least a month of doing what your doing before you change anything. Be consistent. Love you!

with weight traiing you wont see an instant weekly differwence like you would lbs on scales with dieting/ weight loss. It can take 3/4 weeks to see a difference but you should notice it in your strength. I have recently changed my to aim more wth reducing body fat which means more weight training- I am on week 2 of new routine.

Keep with it and if lter your not seeing a difference change it slightly. Good luck. ;-)

Yep, I feel your pain. Only 7 lbs from goal and have switched to interval training in the last 6 weeks. Weight has crept up a couple of lb but I am noticably fitter and smaller although I don't measure. I only weigh in once a month now as trying not to get hung up on the weight issue. I am prepared to stick this out as I am in no hurry to hit goal, but I still don't like hitting the scales.

Ok, I will take your suggestions and I did notice the fat of course, I'm eating. I was trying to get in enough calories and couldn't without eating fats like nuts etc. I quit walking but I think I will do one today. My kayak is fixed so I can do it again. Variety will help. I appreciate you looking at my diary. I think sometimes I am doing so well with that but your input really helped,

been my biggest problem, being consistent, you are right on Gilda, I will stick with it come hell or high water. I will drink more water and also keep the salt and fat low and add back in a little aerobic/cardio. hugs, and appreciate your friendship, denise

Ditto, scales stink, they don't give you a true pic of where you are in attaining your goal which mine is gain muscle, burn fat and lose inches in the right places;) Thank you much, so appreciate your help, denise

Answered this on your wall as best as I was able, but I'm no expert. I think you need to stick with it a bit longer - you've been changing things around and it often takes a while for your body to adjust.
Don't give up Denise - you're doing great! :flowerforyou:
