Help! Plastic containers taste like soap

Many of my plastic containers taste like soap. I use Dawn Green Apple Antibacterial. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it? Real lemon? Vinegar? Since I'm dieting every bite is precious and I can't stand tasting soap in my meals all the time! How can I prevent this from happening again aside from using the dishwasher? (I think it's ridiculous to use a dishwasher for 1 person). Thanks in advance!

    Maybe you're using too much soap or not rinsing them well enough?

    Try other scents/brands? Buy new ones if they doesn't work.

    Kat: yeah i guess a combination of both. i've started diluting the soap with water first in another bowl or something before pouring it into a container to wash it.
