Baked Apples

Has anyone made these? I found a recipe on sparkpeople that says to core the apple, and place them in a baking dish with water on the bottom. Do you core the apple all the way through? If so, do all the other ingredients come out the bottom while baking (butter, splenda brown sugar, cinnamon)? Thanks

Yes, if you core the apple all the way through, the other stuff comes out.
I like to just dice the apple up into bite size pieces, then add the other stuff, and then microwave.0 -

I core the apples all the way through and then put on some foil, then fill the middle of the apple with whatever I feel like (nuttelex, brown sugar, shredded coconut, sultanas, whatever) and then wrap the apple in the foil it's sitting on and bake in the oven. The foil holds the stuff on the inside while it cooks. You could also chop the apples, and put the stuff on top and wrap in foil and bake that way too.0

I leave the bottom of the core in place to hold ingredients in
I just remember not to eat it
sultanas is my fave filling0
