This makes me so sad for her, and mad, because she is telling people to do this diet, and ALL the comments on this video are from people congratulating her, or asking her advice. Wtf??

Yea, I couldn't help but wonder what her husband thought of it. And it's one thing to eat one HEALTHY meal a day...but she's bragging that she gets to eat whatever she wants for her one meal, and that it's defenitely not healthy....yikes..0

I know someone that lost about 50lbs eating just dinner every day.
.....................................
Then they started eating like a normal person and gained 70. Not a good idea.0 -
I know, it's crazy. She said she lost 15 lbs in 3 months at one point, and I'm thinking, that's it? You can lose more than that eating healthy foods 5 times a day and exercising. She also said she read about someone who lost 60 lbs in a year from eating one meal a day. I lost 70lbs in 1 year from eating healthy foods and exercising. I don't get why she thinks this is the best way to lose weight.0

Yep...this is just what happens.0 -
people just don't want to work for what they want- why do you think gastric band operations have rocketed up? And silly ideas like this are coming about?
Instead of being smart and work hard they just cop out and do things like this! I'd rather use MFP and exercise and keep the weight off properly then doing that O:0 -

I usually eat one meal a day.
And that meal is roughly 1400 calories.0 -
Bump.... cause I want to watch this when I am on my pc....0

Wow. I was actually speechless after watching that. It's sad to see someone that thinks eating one meal a day is a healthy way to lose weight. That is by far one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. I turned it off half way through, so I'm not sure which "meal" she's letting herself eat during the day, but she is destroying her metabolism! Don't get me wrong, I sometimes don't get in the calories that I should, but I still eat something every 2-3 hours... like fruits, veggies, snacking on cheese, and then I still eat 3 meals a day!
I'm sure she's lost weight, and that she will continue to, but she will gain it all back. This is a "diet".. and we all know that "diets" don't work because they come to an end. It's about a lifestyle change... changing the way you eat and the way you live your life! This girl needs a serious kick to the head..0 -

this. It depends on the caloric load of that one meal.0 -
I can easily eat one meal a day....there's nothing wrong with it. This whole idea of eating 3 meals and 2 snacks or 6 small meals a day is all a ploy.0
-
WOW, what a LOST girl...makes me sad to think there are so many uneducated people out there when it comes to weight loss - you need 3 things IMO - Excercise, healthy eating and MOTIVATION!! There is not secret and no quick formula...sad really0

1 meal or 37 meals.
doesnt matter.
Now if shes just eating 500 cals a day then we have issues.
If shes doing the proper warrior diet then shes fine.
Havent the time to watch though.
Google Ori Hoffmekler
His books are extremely detailed on how body fat works and how to get rid of it in a healthy manner.0 -
OP...y did u post it? Some kids on this site don't need to c it and interpret wrong way. As a couple of other posters say, they do it but big cals in one hit. However people on here that already struggle with eating enough will get wrong impression n you just gave them access to something else they can confuse as low cal eating as opposed to just one meal that is high cals.0

Admitidly, when my eating disorder started, this is how i started out. I was living with my boyfriend at the time and his family so measuring out food ect just wasn't possible cause his mum would always cook for us all.
So i'd wake up, have a coffee for breakfast and no solids, go to work, eat nothing all day and then just ate whatever his mum cooked us on a night. 8 times out of 10 the meals weren't overly healthy. It'd be stuff like chicken korma, pizza, pasta bake, roast dinners, take away (i'd get chicken burger and chips or cheesy chips) and i lost so much weight doing this. When i went home to visit my mum she couldn't believe the drastic change.
It does work but i wouldn't recommend it. Like i say, this was back in my disordered ways.0 -

I think there is a difference between people on this site doing IF, (Which I don't agree with but hey, to each their own, it must be working for you) but then there is this girl, who thinks this is the best thing in the world because she doesnt have to exercise, and she eats fast food almost every day for her meal. This is NOT healthy.0
-
Look at her eyes! Doesn't she look drawn out and knackered!? Palid skin. Yay, weightloss. But seriously, losing on the scale is not the be-all and end-all. Healthy is the biggest most important thing and she just looks ILL!0

Since you are supposed to be 18 or older to sign up for MFP, there shouldn't BE kids that will see it. Now granted, I know there are a few who lie about their age but we shouldn't have to censor ourselves because of it.0 -
Sounds scary.....and not realistic to maintain for life.0

I don't understand....
What difference is it going to make (apart from....none) if I eat my 1700 calories in 1 meal or across 5, or 6, or 3...etc. Whilst I agree that eating junk for that one meal isn't the way to go, I also think that is the case if eating 3, 5, 6 or whatever number of meals in a day.
If she's looking like crap then the issue isn't the one meal, its the crap in the meal that's making her look like crap. Unless that's her 'normal' look.
*edited to add....just watched the video again - to me she does'nt look palid, tired or drawn out. She has eye makeup which make it look like she has slightly sunken eyes...apart from that?.... :huh:0 -
I watched her original video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwB6JOmOw_k&feature=relmfu
While I would not do this - it works for her and she is eating healthy (cut out junk and soda drinks).
For me it would be a fad method and the risk of gain, unless one eats better and is more active, is ever present. I prefer not to deny myself and eat a lot of good things more often.
So for those here certain that she is an idiot and abusing herself - why? If she isn't under feeding?
Edit: oh, wait - "It's kind of torturous" - "I don't eat healthy" - "I don't exercise" - yep, she's an idiot.0 -
I'm a girl who loves food. Eating healthily tastes good, drinking plenty of water and keeping myself hydrated helps the nutrition circulate and keep me energized, and exercising is genuinely fun and it makes me feel good.
There is no way in hell I am going to eat once a day just to lose a few pounds (and without exercise, for which I wouldn't even have the energy if I wasn't eating healthily).0 -
Since she stated her goal weight is 87 lbs, I'm willing to bet that one meal isn't 1200 calories+ to sustain her for the whole day.0
-
The world is filled with people who think they need to starve themselves to lose weight.... It's so sad.... Which is why I am trying my damnedest to spread the word lol0
-
I remember many years ago, David Letterman was promoting the idea of one meal a day. I think he said he ate dinner and that was it. I think he had a heart attack a few years later. Not sure if he's still on that diet or not. I hate when a person in his position promotes something stupid like that.0
