Road Map advice

Hi,

I've been on MFP for just over 2 months now and have lost a little but not as much as I thought I would after 2 months. I'm 162cm and currently around 70kg. My goal is around 55kg but I am trying to build muscle so I'm flexible on the goal number.

So, I just went through the 'In Place of a Road Map' post and worked out my numbers, but I just want to check the numbers and get advice.

According to those calculations, my BF % is 29.4%, my BMR is 1808 per day (up from the MFP calculation of 1505ish). MFP states that my TDEE is 1790.

Working out 20% below the BMR of 1808 gets me a net goal of 1446 per day. This is almost 200 calories more than my current net goal of 1290 per day and I'm nervous (read: terrified) of upping my calories that much and just putting back on the weight I've managed to lose.

If you do the 'Road Map' system, do you eat back exercise calories?
Do you think my numbers from the calculation sound right?
Should I up my calories?

  • I'm a bit confused as I don't know what the Road Map system is, but I am on 1200 cals per day (and have been since the start) and I only eat the calories back from exercise if I'm REALLY hungry - otherwise, what was the point of working out?

I started just shy of 97kg and am now just over 69kg - 14 months at 1200 cals per day. MFP works :)

I am not sure if that helps, but I hope so. You are obviously on the right track!

You might get better answers if you join the Road Map group...

  • Sorry, I didn't realise there was a group, since it is a sticky in this forum I thought it was a general thing. Thanks, I'll check it out
