one week with no change is not a plateau...our weight fluctuates daily. maybe a day ago, or two, you were less, and it bounced back up due to sodium, water retention, TOM, needing to take a crap, etc.....

can't really judge much with no info on you at all...
how long have you been trying to lose weight?
    starting weight?
    current weight?
    goal weight?
    height?
    daily intake?
    exercise routine?
  • It's only been a week, keep that in mind. I KNOW you will see some results next week. Don't give up! You can do it!

How do you KNOW? She's not on your friends list.

She could be eating ten boxes of twinkies a day for all you know.

Or starving herself on 200 calories a day.

I hate when people blow sunshine and rainbows up each others *kitten* and are like "keep it up!" when they have NO IDEA what "it" even IS for that person.

    WAY more info is needed.

I think we could all use a sunshine and rainbow enema!

    1) One week is not a plateau
    2) Make your diary open

I step on the scale buck naked, first thing every morning. I only record the losses, NEVER the gains, because my bod is tricky like that sometimes, and I won't let it get to me.

For example, my weight started trending down on Friday, and got to the lowest yesterday and made a note of it. Today I am up a pound from that! If I had only weighed myself today, I wouldn't have appreciated what had happened.

If this sounds a little OCD, well, whatever....it has worked for me almost 50 pounds' worth over the last year and a half, and I feel like I have started a new life!

Are we a little angry robin52077? Why would you post something like that? you dont know what the person wants or needs only yourself. You were very critical to someone that was simply posting encouragement. You ideas on what is needed is for you and its okay to let others know what you need but to say something harsh to someone about what they post will stop encouragments from them. If you dont like someone elses posts you dont have to, just dont reply. wow slow down!

You sound a little angry kmcintyre57. You were very critical to someone who only posted the truth. You ideas on what is needed for you and its ok to let others know what you need but to say something harsh to someone about what they post will stop posts that actually help from them. If you dont like someone elses posts you dont have to, just dont reply. wow slow down!

Encouragement has its place, especially at this website. However, in order to truly help the OP, more information is needed. While encouraging words are nice and all, actual input on diet and exercise routines are more helpful in the long run.

Was robin a little harsh? Yes, but I don't think they were wrong.

FYI I don't eat 10 twinkies a day. I eat anywhere from 1250-1350 calories a day (I am a shorty). I also pay close attention to macros and eat lots of fruit and veg as well as do cardio and strength training 3-4 days a week. If I chose not to share my diary that is my business. I was simply looking for some uplifting words of encouragement and some people here seem to get that. To the person who posted about the twinkies don't bother replying I blocked you and won't see it. Try being nicer to people. I simply won't ever post for encouragement again. You are a very nasty person.

I remember taking the CPA exam, all my friends told me not to worry and that I would pass it. While the words were nice, none of my friends knew anything about accounting or the exam. I would have felt much better hearing this from one of my college professors or classmates who knew something about the exam.

So for me, personally, I don’t like empty encouragement. I like actual tips and recommendations that will help me to succeed. You expressed concern about not losing any weight, yet do not seem to want any help, just people telling you that you are awesome.

Are you awesome? Probably. I just didn’t realize that all you wanted was empty words. I would rather look at your diary and exercise and tell you what I think.
