I have just started P90X and got the resistance bands but found that these just don't seem to have much effect. I have been using the black band which is the heaviest and although I do feel a little I certainly don't find I am struggling by the end of the sets.
I have some dumbells that are 4.5kg and although these are good for some of the arm exercises again I think I need heavier especially for the weighted exercises on the legs.
Personally I prefer lifting with a barbell rather than dumbells. Does anyone use a barbell for P90X?
What range of weights should I be looking to get?
Thanks

I mostly use 15# and 20# dumbbells, but I have used 10#. It all depends on the particular exercise. A good range of weights is good, but really it all depends on you. Get a weight heavy enough to feel the burn at the number of reps you want to do. Im not an expert in weights though, it is just what I use!0
