Who wants to share balanced REAL FOOD menus?

I cook and eat real food, balanced pretty well for 40/30/30 at 1500-1600 calories/day (weekly average), and easily modified for those of you still eating at 1200. I've opened my food diary so anybody can see my menus without actually adding me as a friend. As you'll see, I plan a week in advance.

Happy to answer questions or provide recipes!

Will you share, too?

My stats:

Age: 54
Height: 5' 9"
Starting weight: 225 (Nov. 2011)
Current weight: 173 (Aug. 2012)
Target weight: 145
Current BMR: 1472
Goal TDEE: 1628
Current daily calorie intake: 1500-1600 (up from 1100-1200 effective Aug. 18, 2012)
Macros: 40/30/30 (no fake food!)

I'm at 45/35/20 at 1700 (weekly average). I cook 90% of my own food. I eat normal foods as well : eggs, bread, yogurt, pasta, meats etc. . I'm pretty boring though. Same basic breakfast (oatmeal) salad and leftovers for lunch - dinner is usually something different daily. I usually have to have a shake to hit my protein but take that off and I'm about same calories as you ;-)

    Diary is open as well.

We are trying to cut down on processed food too - more fruits and veggies, less boxed....crap. We do eat cheese, yogurt, pasta etc though but I'm happy to share my diary with you. I usually seperate out my ingredients so I know how much of what food I've had.

Thanks for sharing, guys! I'm enjoying some new ideas!
  • I will try to add more recipes. We eat very well, no fake foods either. We prefer quite spicy food as you do (its the southern cook in us) I just go another small George Foreman grill for the office so my prep time at night will be cut in half! I'm so excited. Going to bring fresh meat, fish and veggies to grill! No more cooking three meals during dinner time.

I eat a ton (3250+ daily) and my diary is open. It might be boring though (besides my nightly pint of ice cream), as I tend to eat the same thing(s) over and over. Pretty well balanced though.

Former fellow Atlantan here. Looks like we have similar views on eating (and Happy Hour!). My diary is open. I did not log this last weekend due to family emergency, but normally I am on track most days. I cook a lot, so many of my entries are personal recipes, which I would be glad to share.

I have always stayed away from boxed processed foods... This is an Awesome idea; it is easy to get stuck ont he same menu over and over. Thanks for the ideas.

i blog my supper meals at www.everythingisbetterwithcheese.blogspot.com.

i try to keep it balanced with fresh fruit and veggies included everyday, and at least one meat-free meal each week. most everything is homemade, but i will use jarred/canned/boxed food for convenience if i need to. for example, i am buying tortellini from the store instead of making my own for the soup this week. however, the ice cream will be homemade. :)

With the foreman grill, since your cooking time is cut in half, you can cut your cleaning time even further by using parchment paper --if anyone gets annoyed cleaning that thing. i do.
