I am a stay at home mom, spend most of the days indoors. I clean, take care of my 2 kids everyday and work out doing cardio at least 30 minutes and at least 3 days a week. Which activity level would I fall under, I had my goal on lightly active and I'm starting to think it should be sedentary. Please help, thank you.
Sedentary: Spend most of the day sitting (e.g. bank teller, desk job)
Lightly Active: Spend a good part of the day on your feet (e.g. teacher, salesman)
Active: Spend a good part of the day doing some physical activity (e.g. waitress, mailman)
Very Active: Spend most of the day doing heavy physical act

SAHM are lightly active. You burn more calories cleaning and taking care of your child then I do creating spreadsheets. BTW, try to add in weight training. Much better for you from a fat loss stand point than cardio.0 -
I work from home, so I put down sedentary, even though I use a standing desk from time to time. I just add in my exercise as I complete it. I don't add in things like house work because I do it everyday and my body is used to the activity.
Of course, if you have several pre-school aged children, you may want to increase your activity level.
Maybe getting a basic pedometer to track your daily steps will give you a better picture of your activity level.0 -
My children are 3 and 4months. I just feel like being at home I sit more than anything.0

Don't include your dedicated exercise in the activity setting; log it using the Exercise tab.
Your activity level depends on how much you move throughout the day. If you spend a lot of time sitting (TV, computer, etc.) then it should be sedentary. Light cleaning is part of everyone's normal daily activity, I wouldn't count it. But if you're active most of the day (playing with kids, etc.) then I would use Light Active.0
