30lbs shouldn't be hard, should it? Ha!

Hi all,

I'm brand spankin' new to this site. My goal is to get back to my high school weight which ironically is near the appropriate amount for my height, according to the masses. Took me 10 years to gain these love handles. I'm hoping it doesn't take that long to make them disappear!! Motivation & proper diet seem to be my weakness. However, I rather enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, walking & volleyball. Those of which I've been doing quite a bit of, but my weight still climbs. Any tips, do's, don't do's, support & guidance on food /exercise is highly welcomed. Good luck to everyone on your quests! Lord knows I need some.

Have a great day!

Welcome! Isn't it funny how weight sneaks up on us without us noticing? I have about 20 lbs to lose (30 would be great, but I'll start with 20). I've been on this site for 5 days now, and I think counting the calories really helps. You can eat what you want, but it forces you to choose wisely. I'm always in need of motivation so feel free to add me as a friend!

Took slightly less than ten years to gain the pounds though... I think logging your food and activity is key. As soon as I log things, I automatically feel more in control of what I am doing, and I think that is half the battle.
