The power of pH

Has anyone read about putting more alkaline into your diet and less acid to help maintain your body's pH levels? Is this some type of fad diet or is it the real deal. Im reading a book in it now and it sounds legit. The practices seem easy to incorporate into my diet now. Just thought I'd get some advise before I try it.

You are the one reading the book you tell us I would be interested to hear your findings.0

The above link doesn't get into as much detail as the book but you get the idea.
This bottom link has the actual chart on what foods fall under which category.

One of my professors was just mentioning her findings on this as well. We were talking about craving coffee, tomatoes, chocolate, etc. All having pretty high acidic levels. I heard you can just add a bit of baking soda to water and it helps balance things out. I'm really interested to see what the articles say that you've posted, as well as others' thoughts! Thanks for the post.0
