Ladies- Dry facial skin from exercise?

Since I started TRULY working out (more than a walk around the neighborhood) I've noticed my face gets dry and flaky. I live in Texas, and it's too hot for me to work out outside, so the majority of my workout is in the air conditioning. Even in the AC, I sweat - like running a 10k through Death Valley sweat. I am drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day. Does this happen to anyone else, and does anyone have any advice on how to prevent it? My facial cream doesn't seem to be doing much.

    bump :)
  • aircon dries your skin. Your evaporating sweat would be taking oils with it.
Drink more water, as if you are sweating that much 8-10 isn't enough, and get some good unsaturated fats from cold oils (olive oil in salad for example NOT heated through or used to cook things) or nuts, avocados... you know the dealio.
They will help with hair, skin and eyes. Essential fatty acids.

You can also get face antiperspirants if you are sweating that much. I only use them under makeup so I don't know how great they are for workouts.

I am finding the same thing. I eat plenty of healthy oils, drink all of my water, wash up right after working out. But, still my face is feeling tight and dry. I need a super moisturizer lately.

I was finding that. i read somewhere to get half a lemon doesnt matter if it has been squeezed put some honey on it and then rub over your face and leave for 2 mins then wash off. It works a treat for me.

Glad to see you mention the fats! Too many people (women especially) cut too far back on healthy fats and then get dry skin and constipation. So it's always a good idea to check if you're getting enough healthy fats in your diet.

I also agree with washing your face as soon after working out as possible.

I totally agree with getting the fat that you need!! It makes a big difference in lots of things - improves digestion by moving things along, helps with dry hair & nails, dry skin and so much more. Fat is not a bad thing! just make sure it's healthy fat.

Coconut oil and avocados are my go to for healthy fats. Watched something on safflower oil the other day.. Thinking of adding that too. I am still the driest woman on the planet.
