Women and Lifting

I always see threads about how the lifting area of the gyms are dominated by males.
I figured I'd share my experience last night. I left my husband on the elliptical after my 7 minute warm-up, and headed over to the free weights/resistance lifts/dip bars section of the gym, where there was me, a thin woman about 50 doing lunges with dumbbells, a strong and healthy 40-year old blonde doing bench presses, a thin runner type girl who is always lifting when I am, and one scrawny dude.
I'm pretty sure we were all thinking it...but it was very empowering to be in a lifting room with mostly females.
