Kitchen appliances/gadget use

Last night I was making meals ahead of time (boyfriend works late so I'm learning to prepare in advance, eat if I want/need to and leave stuff for him....no banquet meals at our house) and making a birthday cake. I was doing the dishes as I went along and I realized a couple of things...there were things in my house that I didn't know how to wash (in my defense, some were new that I hadn't used, some had food I had never washed before on them), things I felt like I had washed a lot in the past few days and things I had to go look for to make sure I still had them. It seems like now that I am eating different I'm using different things in my kitchen more. So what I want to know is.......
1. What kitchen gadget/appliance/utensil is not being used as much in your home as it once was?
2. What appliance/gadget are you using more?
3. (And because I'm always looking for ways to make life better/easier) What is one thing you would suggest people get or try at home in the kitchen?

1. the microwave
2. Hard to say....but everything that blends, chops, or processes. My food processor is going. I'm grinding things in the coffee grinder more (besides beans) and my stick blender has gotten more use in the last few months than it did years before that.
3. A small food processor. I don't know how well the large ones do, but I have a very small one ($5) that does wonders as far as chopping little things like garlic and onions.0 -
1. my toaster oven....its tucked away in the shadows for a day our stove quits....lol
2. my blender, protein shakes are the bomb!
3. i recommend a digital pressure cooker! fast, easy, safe, and makes cheap cuts of meat taste fabulous, juicy and tender in no time!0
