This seems unreal to me to have actually lost 14.8 pounds in just 3 weeks. I can feel a huge difference in the way my clothes fit so I feel great about that, but should I be worried that after 3 weeks I'm still losing more than the recommended 2 lbs a week (4.8 lbs lost for this weeks weigh in as I weigh in on Wednesdays). I want to do this the right way and I am definitely eating and not always the right choices but the weight is still coming off. I attributed the first 10lbs in 2 weeks to water weight, could week 3 be the same thing. I have gone over a few days but overall for the week I was right on target. I'm not complaining I just don't want to have this bite me in the *kitten* later on. I'm thinking I might need to set my activity level up to have my calories be higher for the day. Don't worry, I'm sure ill be complaining when I do stall. LOL. Thanks for any advice.

Basically the more you have to lose, the quicker it can be to lose it initially. Eventually it will slow down but for now get the most out of it. (eat the right foods, exercise etc). Great job and keep it up0

Thats a great start, I would be over the moon! Ive always found that I lose more in the 1st two or three weeks and then it slows down a bit, perhaps its water like you say. I am not an expert but perhaps if you keep losing at that rate over a longer period of time perhaps up your calories?0

Thanks.. and I am pretty excited about it but I don't want to get too excited if I'm hurting my body in the end. I will see how this week goes and then re adjust my activity level which in turn will have me eating more calories. Just have to keep up the Good calories and minimize the Bad Calories.0

you have every right to be excited! just temper it with being realistic, at some point it may slow down. Just be prepared for that day and celebrate the smaller losses. Congratulations and keep up the good work and motivation!0

It's good to hear that you want to be cautious. Going about weight loss in a more controlled, careful manner makes you more likely to keep the weight off in the end.
Keep in mind, though, that at first some of what you're losing might be water weight. If you're normally a junk food junkie with a high processed food and salt intake, that can add a lot of water retention weight that drops off fairly quickly right off the bat. Last week I had beef jerky and weighed about three pounds more for nearly two days!
As long as you're not starving yourself and feel like you have enough energy to get through your day, don't worry about it. My only other suggestion would be a multi-vitamin (preferably gel which absorbs better) to make sure you're not losing out on any vital nutrients as you restrict calories.0
