Really need to get some strength training into my workouts and saw these Wii weights

http://wiiflex.com/?p=78

The ones I looked at were 1kg each. I have EA Sports Active 2, the Wii balance board, Witt fit plus etc and am hoping to incorporate weights into some of the workouts.

Guess I could use them away from the Wii also.

Anyone tried these and are they any good? I'm always wary of gimmicky things so keeping an open mind.

Thanks in advance.

If you are looking for a cheap alternative to the gym, your best bet would be body weight exercises. 1 kilo is too light to stimulate anything. Best of luck with your training.

Push ups are my real weakness but you're probably right, I'll check out some body weight workouts and hopefully build up to them (my arms are so weak lol)

We were just at walmart in the sporting goods isle... My twelve year old (seventy pounds soaking wet with heavy boots on) picked up an eight pound kettle ball and was lifting it... Having it... He then went to a fifteen pounder... He had to work...

If you are weak enough that you need one kilo... You won't be for long... And then you'll be mad that you wasted your money...

If you want to work out... But cant do the gym... There are plenty of body weight alone exercises... Squats, lunges, sit ups, push up, just to name a few...

I use a program called jefit to plan my strength training... You could search for ready made routines that don't involve weights...

    Good luck :)

  • you may as well get two cans and swing them around for the same effect

Lol thanks for replies, I think I probably won't bother with those weights. When I did 30 Day Shred I used drinks bottles (1litre so 1kg) which weren't very challenging.

I have a resistance band but I'm guessing that won't make me break a sweat either.

Think I'll go with the body weight workouts for my strength training as it'll take a lot more effort to shift and move this body of mine than a kilo of plastic lol
