Having A Hard Time With This. Help Me?!

I have been on this site for about 4 months now. I've lost 41 pounds so far. Lately, I have been having a really hard time. Not really with my dieting. I am head on with that stuff. However, on my days off of work I slip up. I used to work out every day but now I am on thirds and just sleep all day. Not to mention my work is pretty physical. I am a shelf stocker at Walmart. I am constantly walking fast ALL over the store. I lift heavy boxes all night. I walk fast from one end of the aisle to the other in order to get things put away. I am always bending and stretching to pick up the boxes. At lunch I eat lunchables. Sometimes, I have veggie dogs. I have gained 2 and a half pounds in 8 days. NONE of my friends on this site even talk to me anymore. I don't work out anymore because in my mind I feel like I do SO much at work everyday that it IS a workout. According to this site I burn 2,000 everyday. But then on my days off I just lay around, don't work out, and eat. I feel like I lost all my friends on this site. I gained a few pounds which freaks me the heck out! I am tired and scared and my husband needs a hip replacement and he is only 21. We still live with our in laws. So, I am just stressed beyond comprehension. Please, I just need someone ANYONE to talk me through this. Thanks for listening if anyone actually did.

    Hi klmuggsy

41 lbs down is amazing. You may have just hit a plateau. But lunchables are full of sodium and not a really healthy choice. Try getting more fruit and veggies. Living with your in-laws is probably stressful on it's own as it is not your home, so you probably are not getting the healthy choices you need...I'm no expert as I have no idea what your home life is like but it does sound like you are stressed.

I had to reset my scale this morning. I grabbed a couple heavy items and jumped on this put the scale way up, then I got back on and it was good to go although I only lost 0.2 lbs. and I eat now where my calories / day. I would suggest even on your days off try to go for a 30 min walk, it should help and it always relieves stress.

You are staying busy at work but a good hard core work out is a great idea even if it is dancing to the radio. I am on my feet all day, do tons of stairs and bending, lifting also, but it just isn't enough. And I always hear people say to eat back what you burn. but you are really not getting a good burn...but then again some days neither do I.

Hang in there we all hit a wall...I am only 3 weeks in and have already hit one, it is very disappointing, and depressing. Don't totally depend on the scales.

You need to be proud of what you have done so far, and remember to drink lots of water.

It sounds as though you are exhausted and burned out!

Working overnight is very hard on your body and your mind. Doing that while dealing with your husband's health issues and also trying to change your diet is really quite overwhelming. I think most people would be exhausted!

From what you described in your post, you're relying on a lot of pre-packaged food right now. While it's very convenient, it may be contributing to your exhaustion, both because it's not very nutritious and because you may be really fighting to stay within calories while left feeling hungry.

If at all possible, try to eat more real food. You'll feel a lot better and be able to eat more volume as well. I'm no cook, but I can throw ten chicken breasts in the oven on a weekend. Then I have a good protein source for the entire week already 90% prepared. You can also make a big batch of brown rice or whole wheat pasta on the weekend that you can reheat all week. Or make a casserole--again, 4-8 main dishes ready for your week. I just bought a slow cooker and that's also great for minimal-effort cooking (also minimal skill level, as I never really learned to cook and can manage this method easily).

Hang in there. If you need some new friends, add me!
