Hi. I just got my Body Fat Handheld machine to track body fat %. The options, besides height and weight, also has a "normal" or "athletic". I am a very muscular person (though there is definitely fat on me, as well), but my legs are like tree trunks and fairly strong (not much fat at all on them). If I select "normal" body fat % is 31%. If I select athletic, it's 28%. Which is accurate or is it more likely something in between?
TIA!
TIA!

Hi,
I'm no expert but in my opinion, if you are fairly muscular then I'd be surprised if your body fat % is as high as 28-31%..on average our bodies are made up of around 50-60% water so if you had 31% bodyfat that would only leave 10-20% left for bones, muscle etc.
I've not used a Bady Fat Handheld machine before, how does it work??
Try getting your BF% measured using calipers or a set of scales with BF% measurement as well and see what that says..
Good Luck

Your Hand Held should have a manual that should state which setting you should use and gives you criteria for it.0

Yes. You are correct and I found it. Thank you. It is a calculation based on frequency, intensity and length of workouts. I qualify as "athletic" by a landslide, so much better info. Thank you!0
