I'm still getting used to this BMR/TDEE and how many calories I should eat. For almost a month and a half, i've been on a 1400 calorie a day diet. Im not seeing any results. You can look at my diary if you want, but honestly I think my diet has been pretty good. I typically go to the gym almost every day for about an hour each time doing both strength training and cardio. If it matters, i'm currently 5'4, 19 years old, and 140 pounds with a goal weight of 120.
My BMR is 1470, does this mean I should probably be eating more than 1400? Is this possibly one of the reasons i'm not losing the weight?
Any advice would be great

If your BMR is 1470, yes, you need to eat MORE. Your BMR is the BARE MINIMUM your body needs to maintain it's lean muscle mass. So you feed it less and your body is more inclined to hold on to what you have, especially if you don't have a *kitten* ton to lose.
You need to eat AT LEAST 50 above your BMR. AT LEAST. So your goal should be NO LESS than 1520, PLUS any thing you burn with exercise. If you do not eat back your calories, you are still eating below BMR.
Your NET goal should be AT LEAST 1520.0 -
If your BMR is 1470, and you are working out 5 days a week, then 2535 calories is what you need to maintain your current weight. So to lose, you are safe with a 2000 calorie/day diet and still lose a pound per week. (Again that's provided that you workout at least 5 hours per week.) 1400 is way too low unless you are sedentary.0

I agree, try 2000 for 3-4 weeks. You might retain water at first so do not panic.0 -
