iphone apps for tracking running

I have the map my run app for my phone and I was happy with it but yesterday my app didn't seem right especially when I turned around at the 3 mile point and then it told me I was at 6 miles about .25 before my end point. Does anyone have any apps suggests or apps they have been happy with.

It's android, but who knows, maybe they have it on iphone too... jogtracker. I love it because you can set notifications so every minute it tells me how long and how far I've run... If you watch it, it will tell you your pace too, but I keep it in an arm band when I run. I use pandora while running and it interrupts that to speak to me. really like it

How much Data do these apps burn? I only have 200 MBS a month and don't want to eat it up.

I use Run Keeper and a few of my friends do as well. We haven't had any problems with it.

Endomondo is the best. I love everything about it. It's all GPS enabled, you can track routes, save routes, send pep talks, etc. LOVE IT!
  • I swear by my Garmin because when I used apps they'd crash and not be as accurate.

I've used the NIke+ app. Heard the Zombie run is great fun, in case you need motivation

    Another vote for RunKeeper.

I used MapMyRun app for about 2 runs - it never found my GPS location despite being 400 miles away between the two runs. That's when I found out about RunKeeper.

I've used both Endomondo and iRunFree. Both do well. Endomondo gives you tracking of various exercises if you need more than running.

I'm a fan of Nike+ running app.. It tells you as much or as little as possible, you can store "power songs" and run against your friends if you want to! It's been very accurate in terms of all information it gives me. I highly recommend it!

probably a lot, since the GPS is running the entire time.

The apps do use alot of your time up. I almost went over my time in less than two weeks. I have used both Map my Run and Nike. I have had good luck with both and have found them to be accurate, it may have been a fluke. I check out my routes with my car first to see and add if I need more or less and always have been right on.....except when it looked like I was zigzagging down the road...haha

I was using Runkeeper, but I switched to Nike Running because it doesn't seem to lose the satellites and it also keeps track on how many miles I put on my shoes. It used to cost $1.99, but now it's free, which is a huge bonus. I also like that I can set it to update my progress every so many minutes, or by the 1/2 mile or mile. I still use Runkeeper when I walk, but I use Nike exclusively when I run.

I use EndoMondo Pro - mostly because it tracks a variety of activities. Has interval times, allows you to go against your own times on the same route etc. As far as data use, I just checked, and on my last 80 minute hike along the river it used all of 487kb (which is basically nothing)

I did not know the NIke app was free now!

I use Runkeeper for my running and walking. Had issues with wonky satellite readings in the past (dang thing kept showing me starting my run in the middle of a cornfield, and running a 4 min. mile - I wish!), but they seem to have straightened that out - no issues with it for months.
